Benchmarks #1 & #2
District Benchmark Assessments are given 2x a year (Fall and Spring) for grades 9-12. The assessments are used to establish baseline achievement data and measure progress toward a standard or set of academic standards and goals.

Biliteracy
The Arizona Seal of Biliteracy recognizes high school students who achieve proficiency in English plus at least one additional language. The seal is placed on the student's diploma and noted on the transcript. Students must complete all English Language Arts requirements, attain the required score on an ELL Assessment, and demonstrate proficient in a second language through an assessment.

Quarterly DFAs
District Formative Assessments (DFAs) are a planned, ongoing process used by all students and teachers during learning and teaching to elicit and use evidence of student learning to improve student understanding of intended disciplinary learning outcomes and support students to become more self-directed learners.

Semester Finals
Semester Finals are comprehensive assessments, often in the form of exams, projects, or essays, given at the end of the semester grading period to evaluate a student's knowledge of the material covered in a specific course during the term.

PSAT
Practice SATs (PSAT) measures critical reading, math, and writing skills that are important for success in college. Critical reading and math sections test a student's ability to reason with facts and concepts; the multiple-choice writing skills component assesses communication skills. It is considered as the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, an initial screen for annual academic competitions for recognition and college scholarships.
